Grok

Grok by xAI is the only AI chatbot with direct real-time access to X (Twitter). Unbeatable for breaking news and trend analysis — with some caveats on source accuracy.

What is Grok?

Grok is the AI assistant by xAI — the AI company founded by Elon Musk in 2023. What makes Grok unique is its direct integration with X (formerly Twitter): Grok accesses the platform's live feed in real time and can comment on current events, trends, and discussions before other chatbots even know about them. Grok 3 was trained in February 2025 with ten times more compute than its predecessor. As of 2026, Grok 4 is the current flagship model (available in the SuperGrok plan).

Grok in our review: Strengths and weaknesses

Grok excels at real-time research: if you want to know what is happening right now on X, in the tech world, or in the news cycle, Grok delivers answers no other chatbot can match. STEM performance is strong (93.3% on AIME 2025). Weaknesses include source accuracy (higher hallucination rate for citations), and it lags behind Claude and ChatGPT for complex coding tasks.

Pricing and plans

Grok is free with 10 prompts every 2 hours. SuperGrok Lite costs $10/month (Aurora image generation). SuperGrok costs $30/month with Grok 4, unlimited prompts, DeepSearch, and Voice mode. Aurora image generation is no longer included in the free plan as of April 2026.

Who is Grok for?

Grok is the first choice for journalists, social media managers, and trend analysts who work daily with current events. For professional long-form writing, reliable source verification, or complex coding projects, Claude or ChatGPT are better suited.
