Methodology

How the data is produced

A machine retrieves the pricing pages of the monitored vendors every day and reads the cheapest regularly bookable paid tier. Changes are diffed against the previous day and only published after several stable measurement days. The GDPR score is produced separately and editorially.

  • We measure the cheapest regularly bookable paid tier (“entry price”), not every tier a vendor offers.
  • Prices are stated in the vendor’s currency and never converted — a cross-currency index would measure exchange rates instead of prices.
  • A new price only counts as a change once it holds for several measurement days. This filters mis-measurements but delays real changes by a few days.
  • Tools with fewer than 14 measurement days are flagged provisional and excluded from the index.
